Natural-Gas Engine Rebuilds for Pumps & Generators

The engine family is only the beginning of an industrial natural-gas build. Big 3 builds natural-gas engines for pumps, generators and oilfield equipment, including Chevrolet and Ford small- and big-block applications. Tell us how the unit is configured and the work it needs to do.

Chevrolet and Ford industrial builds

For a small- or big-block engine, include the identifying numbers and the existing configuration. A familiar automotive engine family is not enough to choose the industrial assembly. We confirm the internal build and supplied parts for the actual application.

Describe the fuel and controls

Tell us what fuel the engine currently uses and send identification for the fuel system, ignition and controls. Include records for any prior conversion. We scope the engine build from that information; fuel-system design or conversion work requires separate agreement.

Match the engine to its working day

For a generator, include the set rating, operating speed and standby or regular-use schedule. For a pump or oilfield unit, identify the driven equipment, coupling and normal operating duty. Include the required completion date so timing can be discussed before you commit.

Plan the complete return to service

The written quote should identify the engine assembly, transferred parts and responsibilities for installation and commissioning. Confirm the cooling, fuel, ignition and control work with your repair team as part of the project. Engine-only work does not include the entire skid or site.

A useful quote starts here

Send the engine tag and equipment details.

  1. Engine and equipment identification, block/head references and existing build records where available.

  2. Actual fuel supply, fuel-system and ignition identification, controls and any conversion history.

  3. Rated operating information, normal duty, failure diagnosis, components to reuse and delivery requirements.

Assembly & scope

Confirm the machining, internal components, external equipment and test or commissioning responsibilities in writing. Engine work and complete-machine repair are different scopes.

Core & freight

Confirm whether exchange is required and whether a deposit is included or separate. A core must match the purchased engine and be rebuildable to receive credit. Freight and unloading arrangements are confirmed for the order.

Schedule & warranty

Agree on the build or supply schedule and the written coverage for your exact order. Inspection, parts availability and confirmed scope affect timing. Review the oil, maintenance and warranty requirements before use.

Questions before you commit

Can an automotive long block be used without checking the configuration?

Do not select an industrial replacement by displacement alone. Send the existing engine identification, fuel and ignition details, equipment rating and build records so the intended configuration can be reviewed.

Do you supply a complete natural-gas conversion?

The starting offer is an engine-build inquiry. Any conversion, controls, installation or commissioning work must be specifically agreed and included in your quote.

Can I order from the model name alone?

No. The engine tag and equipment tag identify different parts of the application. Include both, along with fuel and operating details.

Is every engine shown ready to ship?

No. A guide describes an inquiry path. Current stock, build acceptance, price and lead time are confirmed for your specific order before payment.

Can you handle a natural-gas engine?

Yes. Big 3 builds natural-gas engines for industrial applications. Send the engine and equipment identification, fuel-system details and operating requirements for a build-specific quote.

Does this include the whole machine or site work?

The engine build is the starting scope. Removal, installation, generator electrical work, pump work, field service and commissioning are included only if specifically agreed in your quote.
