Identify the engine and the machine

Send the engine serial number together with the machine or generator identification. Include any available build or arrangement records. We review the installed configuration before offering a rebuild scope or replacement option.

Tell us what failed

Share the diagnosis, operating history and inspection findings already available. Tell us whether the engine overheated, lost lubrication or suffered another documented failure. The quote should address the engine work and identify supporting systems your repair team must check.

Define the handoff

Specify the engine assembly level you need and the components retained by your installer. Confirm the mounting, drive, cooling, fuel and control arrangements from the existing equipment. Removal, machine repairs, field service and commissioning are separate responsibilities unless included in writing.

Independent engine-build service

Your inquiry and quote are handled by Big 3. Caterpillar and Cat names identify the requested application; this is an independent engine-build service. Exact engine acceptance, parts, schedule and warranty are confirmed for the job.

A useful quote starts here

Send the engine tag and equipment details.

  1. Caterpillar engine model and serial number, readable tags and arrangement or parts references if available.

  2. Machine, generator or skid identification, fuel, operating rating and a description of the work it performs.

  3. Diagnosis, damaged components, items to transfer, your location and required return-to-service date.

Assembly & scope

Confirm the machining, internal components, external equipment and test or commissioning responsibilities in writing. Engine work and complete-machine repair are different scopes.

Core & freight

Confirm whether exchange is required and whether a deposit is included or separate. A core must match the purchased engine and be rebuildable to receive credit. Freight and unloading arrangements are confirmed for the order.

Schedule & warranty

Agree on the build or supply schedule and the written coverage for your exact order. Inspection, parts availability and confirmed scope affect timing. Review the oil, maintenance and warranty requirements before use.

Questions before you commit

Do you rebuild every Caterpillar engine?

Send the exact engine identification and application for review. This page is not a complete model-coverage list or a claim that every configuration is available.

Can I get a price before the engine is inspected?

We can discuss the starting scope from your identification and diagnosis. The quote will distinguish confirmed work from items that depend on inspection, parts availability or the condition of your engine.

Can I order from the model name alone?

No. The engine tag and equipment tag identify different parts of the application. Include both, along with fuel and operating details.

Is every engine shown ready to ship?

No. A guide describes an inquiry path. Current stock, build acceptance, price and lead time are confirmed for your specific order before payment.

Can you handle a natural-gas engine?

Yes. Big 3 builds natural-gas engines for industrial applications. Send the engine and equipment identification, fuel-system details and operating requirements for a build-specific quote.

Does this include the whole machine or site work?

The engine build is the starting scope. Removal, installation, generator electrical work, pump work, field service and commissioning are included only if specifically agreed in your quote.

Put the next step in motion
