Identify the Ford engine in the equipment

The machine badge and engine family are starting points. Include the engine tag and any legible casting or stamped numbers. If a previous owner changed the engine, send the replacement records and photos of what is installed today.

Industrial natural-gas applications

Describe the fuel supply and identify the existing fuel, ignition and control equipment. Include operating speed, rated output and the working schedule of the generator, pump or skid. We confirm the intended engine build rather than assuming a road-vehicle configuration will fit.

The drive end and accessories matter

Show the flywheel housing or coupling, mounts, oil pan, cooling arrangement and accessory connections. Tell us what your repair team will retain. These details help distinguish the engine assembly from the external parts and supporting work needed to put it back in service.

A repair plan for the complete job

Send the diagnosis and inspection findings before arranging delivery. The written quote defines accepted engine work, machining, parts, core requirements, timing and warranty. Engine removal, equipment repairs, installation and commissioning are included only when specifically agreed.

A useful quote starts here

Send the engine tag and equipment details.

  1. Ford engine identification, serial or specification numbers, block and head references, and prior repower or rebuild records.

  2. Equipment make/model, actual fuel, operating rating and speed, normal duty and existing ignition or control details.

  3. Failure findings, drive-end and mounting photos, components to transfer, freight destination and the date you need the engine working.

Assembly & scope

Confirm the machining, internal components, external equipment and test or commissioning responsibilities in writing. Engine work and complete-machine repair are different scopes.

Core & freight

Confirm whether exchange is required and whether a deposit is included or separate. A core must match the purchased engine and be rebuildable to receive credit. Freight and unloading arrangements are confirmed for the order.

Schedule & warranty

Agree on the build or supply schedule and the written coverage for your exact order. Inspection, parts availability and confirmed scope affect timing. Review the oil, maintenance and warranty requirements before use.

Questions before you commit

Should I use this page for a Power Stroke pickup?

Use the Ford Power Stroke diesel page for a pickup or road vehicle. This industrial inquiry is for the engine in a pump, generator, skid or other equipment.

Does a matching displacement mean a replacement will fit?

No. Share the actual engine identification, equipment duty, fuel and accessory configuration. We review those details and define the assembly before accepting an order.

Can I order from the model name alone?

No. The engine tag and equipment tag identify different parts of the application. Include both, along with fuel and operating details.

Is every engine shown ready to ship?

No. A guide describes an inquiry path. Current stock, build acceptance, price and lead time are confirmed for your specific order before payment.

Can you handle a natural-gas engine?

Yes. Big 3 builds natural-gas engines for industrial applications. Send the engine and equipment identification, fuel-system details and operating requirements for a build-specific quote.

Does this include the whole machine or site work?

The engine build is the starting scope. Removal, installation, generator electrical work, pump work, field service and commissioning are included only if specifically agreed in your quote.
