Chevrolet Industrial & Natural-Gas Engine Rebuilds

Put Chevrolet small- and big-block experience to work beyond the road. Big 3 builds industrial engines for pumps, generators and oilfield equipment, including natural-gas applications. Show us the engine you have and the equipment it drives so we can define a rebuild that fits the job.

Small-block and big-block industrial builds

Start with the identification on the existing engine, including casting or stamped numbers when available. Tell us if the unit has been rebuilt or repowered. Displacement alone cannot establish the block, heads, rotating assembly or external parts your application requires.

Natural-gas pumps and generator engines

Include fuel-system, ignition and control identification with the equipment rating. A generator running at a set speed and a pump running a daily work schedule need their actual duty described in the quote. Existing conversion records help us understand the engine configuration.

Match the assembly to the installation

Photograph the oil pan, mounts, flywheel or coupling, cooling connections and accessories. Identify which parts your installer will transfer. We review the required engine assembly before quoting; an automotive long block is not automatically a suitable industrial replacement.

From inspection to a written build scope

Share the failure diagnosis and the condition of the engine you can supply. Big 3 confirms accepted machining, internal parts, assembly scope, core terms and timing for the job. Arrange receiving and freight with us before sending an engine. Supporting equipment repairs and commissioning must be separately agreed.

A useful quote starts here

Send the engine tag and equipment details.

  1. Engine tag, serial number, block and cylinder-head identification, displacement if known, and previous build records.

  2. Pump, generator or skid identification; actual fuel; rated speed and output; and the normal operating schedule.

  3. Diagnosis, photos of the assembly and drive connection, accessories to reuse, location and required completion date.

Compare the whole job.

Assembly & scope

Confirm the machining, internal components, external equipment and test or commissioning responsibilities in writing. Engine work and complete-machine repair are different scopes.

Core & freight

Confirm whether exchange is required and whether a deposit is included or separate. A core must match the purchased engine and be rebuildable to receive credit. Freight and unloading arrangements are confirmed for the order.

Schedule & warranty

Agree on the build or supply schedule and the written coverage for your exact order. Inspection, parts availability and confirmed scope affect timing. Review the oil, maintenance and warranty requirements before use.

Questions before you commit

Is this the same quote path as an LS or LT engine for my truck?

This page covers industrial equipment. For a car or truck, use the automotive engine pages and send the VIN and engine code. For a pump, generator or skid, send engine and equipment identification with its operating details.

Can you quote a Chevrolet-based natural-gas engine without a readable tag?

Send clear overall photos, any stamped or casting numbers and existing service or build records. Tell us the tag is missing so identification can be reviewed before an engine is accepted or ordered.

Can I order from the model name alone?

No. The engine tag and equipment tag identify different parts of the application. Include both, along with fuel and operating details.

Is every engine shown ready to ship?

No. A guide describes an inquiry path. Current stock, build acceptance, price and lead time are confirmed for your specific order before payment.

Can you handle a natural-gas engine?

Yes. Big 3 builds natural-gas engines for industrial applications. Send the engine and equipment identification, fuel-system details and operating requirements for a build-specific quote.

Does this include the whole machine or site work?

The engine build is the starting scope. Removal, installation, generator electrical work, pump work, field service and commissioning are included only if specifically agreed in your quote.
