Get the whole repair scoped before buying parts

Replacing an engine or transmission is more than selecting a long block or assembly. We review the vehicle, the failure and the parts needed to complete the job. Start with your VIN, symptoms, diagnosis and the product you are considering so we can quote the work together.

GMC & Chevrolet engine replacement in East Texas

For a Sierra, Silverado, Yukon, Tahoe or Suburban, start with the original engine code and the vehicle diagnosis. Compare the assembly options below, then request a complete quote for installation and any supporting repairs. L83/L84 5.3L and L86/L87 6.2L applications require VIN verification; matching displacement alone does not establish fitment.

Our installation shop is in Troup, serving drivers from Tyler, Jacksonville and the surrounding East Texas area. Schedule an appointment before bringing a vehicle; towing and transport are quoted separately.

Major drivetrain diagnosis

We can help separate an assembly failure from a supporting-system problem and plan the repair. Share prior work, modifications, fault codes and operating symptoms before authorizing replacement.

What your quote needs to settle

  • Exact engine or transmission and vehicle fitment.
  • Assembly price, installation labor and required supporting repairs.
  • Parts supplied or reused, fluids, programming and final verification.
  • Core deposit and inspection terms, freight or vehicle transport.
  • Scheduling, payment and the written warranty for the selected work.

A catalog assembly price does not include installation unless the specific offer says it does.

Drop-off, towing & pickup

Our shop is at 686 FM 856 N, Troup, Texas 75789. Vehicle transport from Dallas/DFW and other service areas can be quoted and scheduled with your repair. Confirm transport cost and arrangements before dispatching a tow truck.

All visits require an appointment. Weekdays: 10 AM–6 PM Central. Weekends: scheduled pickups or payments only, limited to two appointments per weekend.

Other diagnosis & repair

Major drivetrain work is our primary focus. We also consider general diagnostic and repair work as scheduling and the vehicle's needs allow. Describe the concern when requesting an appointment so we can confirm whether the job fits our shop.

Shop policies & repair expectations

Please read these requirements before purchasing, dropping off a vehicle or authorizing work. Confirm any questions with Big 3 before proceeding.

Oil approval is required

Use the oil approved by Big 3 for your exact engine and build. Confirm the brand, formulation, viscosity, break-in procedure and service interval before the first start or any substitution. Keep oil and maintenance records. Do not assume a general online recommendation applies to your engine.

Our oil policy restricts Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Valvoline, convenience-store, dollar-store, Walmart-brand, bulk-brand and recycled oils. Do not use these without written approval from Big 3. Follow the written warranty and maintenance requirements supplied with your unit; contact us if supplier instructions differ.

Visits are by appointment

Schedule all drop-offs, pickups, payments and in-person updates in advance. Weekday office hours are Monday–Friday, 10 AM–6 PM Central. Weekend appointments are limited to pickups or payments, with a maximum of two appointments per weekend. Weekend repair work is not offered.

Completion dates are estimates. Vehicles are released after the agreed work, final testing and payment are complete. Contact us before arranging transport or taking time off for pickup.
